Next, we built our "Magic Books" that we will work on in class today and tomorrow. Students cut out and labeled the different parts of their books and them left them here with me at the end of the block. We will work on the books tomorrow.
Lastly, students completed the Ch. 2A Vocab crossword puzzle and wkbk pgs 65-66 which were on the back of the crossword puzzle.

After the quiz students picked up the new vocab sheet and we defined our new vocabulary for Ch. 2A which covers school and class vocab. The middle part of the block we worked on these 2 workbook pages that we didn't get to yesterday to practice negatives with "gustar." Finally we played the "Palomitas" popcorn vocab game and at the end played a Jeopardy review game to prepare for tomorrow's quiz. Make sure you know your vocab from the bright yellow sheet and how to conjugate gustar for tomorrow's quiz!

Today in class I checked in with the students after being gone for 2 days. We reviewed how to use the Personal "A" with "gustar" and how to use "gustar" with verbs, and both plural and singular nouns. Next, we worked on this practice sheet together.
Next we reviewed the conjugations of "Gustar" and then continued with learning how to use negatives with "gustar" to express things we don't like. Here is the powerpoint we went over today. Students then worked on these 2 workbook pages to practice negatives.

Warm Up: Translate

Today in class students created a Gustar Flip Book where they wrote about:
1. Things they like - (Me gusta)...)
2. Things they really like - (Me gusta mucho...)
3. Things they don't like - (No me gusta...)
4. Things they don't like at all. - (No me gusta nada...)
See the directions and a sample flipbook here. You should write your sentences, draw your pictures, and turn in your flipbooks as you finish them. If you don't complete it 100% during class time, finish it over the weekend and turn it in to me on Monday.
You will need to look up both singular and plural nouns to create your sentences. Use www.wordreference.com to find unknown vocabulary.
Remember to find the appropriate context:
n = noun / nm = masculine noun / nf = feminine noun
Remember to add the article (el/la/los/las) and pluralize the noun as needed for the 3rd sentence under each flap.

Today we started class by defining the new Ch. 1A vocab sheet over activities and "gustar" (to like). Students then took some guided notes over the verb "Gustar." Here's the powerpoint we went over today. Students started learning the new vocab by using the online flash cards found here: Ch. 1A - "Gustar", Likes/Dislikes. Spend 15 minutes learning the "Learn" game. The last 15 minutes of class we played Blooket to review the vocab.

Today in class we started with the music video "Guapo" by Sr. Wooly to review the verbs "ser" and "tener" as well as adjective vocab. Here is the lyrics sheet. Next, we practiced the different elements of our unit. Students wrote sentences about the differences between these 2 family photos and then we talked about what was written. We also played 2 quick speed games to review vocabulary, and finally students completed these 2 worksheets.

Today we stared class by playing "PONGA" which is Spanish Bingo to practice the numbers a little more. Next, we took our first quiz on Greetings/Goodbyes, Numbers, and Colors. After the quiz, students picked up their first vocab sheet and started working on this vocab crossword puzzle to start familiarizing themselves with the words. Once all quizzes were in, we started talking about the calendar in Spanish (Days, Months, Seasons). Here's the powerpoint we went over today. We only covered Days of the Week and Seasons today. We will continue the rest next Tuesday. No homework tonight!

Today in class students created a Gustar Flip Book where they wrote about:

See the directions and a sample flipbook here. You should write your sentences, draw your pictures, and turn in your flipbooks as you finish them. If you don't complete it 100% during class time, finish it over the weekend and turn it in to me on Monday.
You will need to look up both singular and plural nouns to create your sentences. Use www.wordreference.com to find unknown vocabulary.
Remember to find the appropriate context:
n = noun / nm = masculine noun / nf = feminine noun
Remember to add the article (el/la/los/las) and pluralize the noun as needed for the 3rd sentence under each flap.

After the quiz, students picked up their first vocab sheet and started working on this vocab crossword puzzle to start familiarizing themselves with the words. Once all quizzes were in, we started talking about the calendar in Spanish (Days, Months, Seasons). Here's the powerpoint we went over today. We only covered Days of the Week and Seasons today. We will continue the rest next Tuesday. No homework tonight!

Today in class we reviewed the concepts from last Friday and added on Colors and the Numbers 1-20 and the question: "¿Cómo estas?" (How are you). Here is the powerpoint with the information we covered today. The last part of the block students received this Picasso coloring sheet where students had to fill in the Spanish color names and then colored the sheet to match the numbers.
